Manama: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the successful repatriation of 667 Bahraini citizens as part of ongoing efforts to bring citizens home from abroad due to current regional circumstances. This initiative aligns with the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the orders of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the first aircraft operated by Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, arrived from the Republic of Turkmenistan, carrying 163 citizens who had been in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Additionally, 504 citizens returned to Bahrain by land, with transportation facilitated by the Ministry from the city of Mashhad in Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the return of all remaining Bahraini citizens stranded in affected countries, working closely with Bahrain’s diplomatic missions and relevant authorities abroad for a seamless repatriation process.
The Ministry expressed gratitude towards the authorities of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Turkmenistan for their cooperation and coordination in facilitating the return routes for Bahraini citizens by both land and air.
Bahraini citizens in Mashhad have been advised to report to the transportation office at Zamzam 1 Hotel on Shirazi Street to arrange their return via buses, which are currently the most efficient travel option under the circumstances.
The Ministry also urged citizens to delay travel to countries experiencing tensions and to take necessary precautions for their safety. An emergency hotline (+973 17227555) remains active 24/7 to provide assistance and address inquiries.
