Kuwait city: The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), represented by Adel Al Jar and Ali Medon, took part in the inaugural GCC Conference of the Red Crescent on Artificial Intelligence. This event was organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society with the support of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference aimed to establish a unified Gulf vision to capitalize on artificial intelligence technologies within humanitarian and relief efforts. It highlighted the increasing dedication of Gulf societies to utilize smart technologies for enhancing humanitarian response and developmental communication. The conference emphasized improving the efficiency of volunteer and relief operations and strengthening systems for data collection, analysis, and early prediction. This aligns with the modern vision of humanitarian action that increasingly depends on technological innovation for effectiveness and precision.
Mubarak Al Hadi, Secretary General of the BRCS, remarked on the conference's significance as a pioneering platform for discussing the future of humanitarian work in the context of rapid technological advancements. He stated that the Society participated to help develop rules for the responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure that humanitarian aid is delivered with speed, accuracy, and transparency. He reaffirmed the Society's commitment to engaging in joint GCC initiatives aimed at improving standards for volunteerism and relief work across the region.
Al-Hadi also mentioned that the BRCS will strive to implement the recommendations and initiatives from the conference, particularly those focused on enhancing volunteer and staff capabilities in digital humanitarian communication and the innovative application of artificial intelligence. These initiatives aim to ensure the effective integration of modern technologies into the Society's future operational and relief strategies.
