Bahrain Participates in Preparatory Meeting for Arab Parliament Conference

Cairo: Dr. Hisham Ahmed Al Asheeri, a member of the Arab Parliament, and MP Mohsen Ali Al Asbool represented the Council of Representatives at the preparatory committee meeting for the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments, held in Cairo.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Asheeri emphasized Bahrain's commitment to joint Arab action, stressing the need for Arab solidarity and coordination to tackle regional challenges. He also highlighted Bahrain's stance on Iranian attacks affecting regional security and stability, urging for a unified Arab response to external aggression.

Dr. Al Asheeri reaffirmed Bahrain's support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, arguing that a fair solution to the Palestinian issue is critical for achieving regional security and stability.

Additionally, Dr. Al Asheeri pointed out Bahrain's advancements in digital transformation, mentioning the digitization of government services across institutions. He noted that Bahrain's position in United Nations e-government indicators has improved, aiding in investment promotion and the expansion of the digital economy.

The meeting was presided over by Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, and included discussions on the draft outcomes of the upcoming conference, which is set to take place on June 27 at the Arab League headquarters, in collaboration with the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.
