Dubai: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, led the Kingdom of Bahrain's delegation at the Dubai Airshow 2025. The participation aligns with directives from His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa to engage in international events and promote the upcoming Bahrain International Airshow.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Transportation Minister attended the official opening of the airshow, which took place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and in the presence of other high-ranking officials. Bahrain's presence at the event is part of the preparations for the eighth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow, set to be held at Sakhir Air Base from November 18-20, under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's patronage.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized the significance of Bahrain's participation as a means to strengthen partnerships and expand cooperation with major global aviation companies. During the airshow, nine new international companies, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Thales, confirmed their participation in the Bahrain International Airshow 2026, showcasing increased confidence in Bahrain's capability to host a world-class event that fosters innovation and investment in the aviation industry.
The minister highlighted that Bahrain's engagement aligns with a broader vision to expand its global aviation footprint through strategic partnerships and advanced technologies. Bahrain aims to develop a comprehensive aviation ecosystem that supports economic growth and reinforces its position as a regional hub for aviation and space.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed conducted high-level bilateral meetings with civil aviation authorities and global companies, including representatives from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, fostering technological innovation, and encouraging participation in the Bahrain International Airshow 2026. These meetings aimed to create a strategic platform for manufacturers, investors, and decision-makers in the aviation and space sectors.
In addition, the Transportation Minister toured several exhibition pavilions to explore the latest technologies in commercial and military aviation, including innovative solutions in sustainability and air navigation.
