Jakarta: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, led by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, participated in an official visit to the Indonesian Parliament during the 19th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to joint Islamic cooperation under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted Bahrain's dedication to reinforcing unity and solidarity within the Islamic world, especially in light of the changing geopolitical, economic, and security challenges both regionally and internationally.
The Speaker stressed the significant role of Islamic parliaments and legislative councils in furthering collective efforts. He advocated for contributions to security, stability, and sustainable development, defending just causes, with particular attention to the Palestinian cause. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of developing Islamic coordination and convergence to align parliamentary visions and realize the aspirations of Islamic nations and peoples.
Additionally, the Speaker highlighted the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Indonesia, emphasizing a mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation across various domains.
