Bahrain Parliamentary Delegation Emphasizes Support for Scouting Movement

Manama:The Bahrain Parliamentary Division delegation underscored the Kingdom's commitment to youth, volunteerism, and the Scouting movement. This commitment is part of a national strategy led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The strategy aims to empower young people, develop their skills, support their initiatives, and enhance their societal contributions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these remarks were made during the opening ceremony of the Scouting conference titled "The Scouting Movement between Volunteering and Economic Activity," held in Kuwait from October 3 to 7. The delegation, led by MP Mohammed Jassim Al Aliwi and including MP Jalal Kadhim Hassan and Shura Council member Redha Ibrahim Munfaredi, emphasized the conference's role in exploring advancements in Scouting and the exchange of Arab experiences in developing Scouting programs and initiatives.

The delegation also highlighted the importance of active participation by the Parliamentary Division in Arab parliamentary and Scouting forums, aligning with the directives of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Bahrain Parliamentary Division. This participation focuses on addressing youth and volunteer-related issues and fostering institutional cooperation and expertise exchange.

The conference explored the future of the Scouting movement, examining how to balance its volunteer and educational goals with economic sustainability. It also focused on developing resources, enhancing the effectiveness of Scouting institutions and programs, and empowering young people to engage in community and developmental initiatives.

Additionally, the program featured specialized lectures and sessions, a Scouting exhibition, meetings of Gulf association presidents and pioneers' association leaders, the 19th Ordinary General Assembly of the Arab Parliamentary Scout Union, the World Islamic Scout Union meeting, and various cultural activities.
