Bahrain Paralympic Committee Hosts Inaugural Event for Students with Determination

Manama: The Bahrain Paralympic Committee, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, successfully organized the first-ever Paralympic gathering aimed at intermediate and secondary school students with determination. The event took place at the Isa bin Rashid Sports Halls and saw participation from 70 students representing various public schools.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme featured workshops in a range of Paralympic sports, including badminton, taekwondo, athletics, wheelchair racing, boccia, and 3x3 wheelchair basketball. These sessions were conducted under the guidance of specialized coaches, ensuring the participants received valuable training and insights.

Ali Mohammed Al Majed, Secretary General of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, emphasized the significance of the gathering in fostering sports participation among students with determination. He highlighted the role of the Ministry of Education and the cooperation of participating schools in making the event a success. Al Majed also pointed out that the gathering served as an avenue to identify promising talent for future national teams.

This initiative is part of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee's ongoing efforts to promote Paralympic sports and broaden the scope of opportunities available to young athletes in the region.
