Bahrain Maritime Holding Company Announces Board Appointment and Strategic Consolidation of Maritime Assets

Manama: Bahrain Maritime Holding Company, a newly established entity under Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the appointment of its Board of Directors and the consolidation of key maritime assets under its platform to accelerate the growth of the Kingdom's maritime sector and position Bahrain on the regional and global maritime map.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain Maritime Holding Company will initially consolidate two of Mumtalakat's portfolio companies: H. Al Dhaen Boats, a Bahraini boatbuilder established in 1989 and recognized for craftsmanship reaching customers across the GCC, Europe, North America, and Asia; and Masar Group, operator of the Kingdom's largest commercial passenger fleet, spanning marine transportation, logistics, and tourism. Bringing these businesses together under one entity provides the scale, capabilities, and ambition to compete regionally and grow internationally.

The newly appointed Board of Directors of Bahrain Maritime Holding Company combines expertise across investment, the maritime sector, and industry to guide the new entity's growth. The Board will be chaired by Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, alongside members Hamad Yaqoob Al Mahmeed, Fawaz Ahmed Behzad, Husain Mohamed Al Qaseer, Shaikh Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, and Peter Insull.

Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa stated that Bahrain Maritime Holding Company marks an important step in strengthening Bahrain's maritime sector and building a platform with the scale and capabilities to compete regionally and internationally. He added that bringing together the complementary strengths of H. Al Dhaen Boats and Masar Group positions Bahrain Maritime Holding Company to deliver more comprehensive maritime solutions, unlock new growth opportunities, and generate sustainable long-term returns and tangible local impact for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Bahrain Maritime Holding Company aims to strengthen the Kingdom's position as a regional hub for marine services, boatbuilding, logistics, passenger and cargo transportation, and marine tourism. By consolidating these businesses under a single entity, the company will be better positioned to create operational synergies, diversify revenue streams, and deliver more integrated, end-to-end maritime solutions in Bahrain and across the wider region.
