Beijing: Bahrain's national football team concluded its campaign in the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a 1-0 defeat to host nation China, in the tenth and final fixture of Group C, held in Beijing.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Wang Yudong scored the match's only goal for China from the penalty spot in the third minute of added time in the second half.
The match witnessed a subdued performance from both sides, following their elimination from contention for direct qualification or play-off spots in the previous round. China remained in fifth place with nine points, while Bahrain finished sixth with six points.
