Manama:As part of Bahrain's leadership of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Ezz Ahmed Al Mannai, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Environment, chaired the 20th meeting of the GCC oil ministries undersecretaries committee. This meeting was conducted via video conference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Mannai emphasized Bahrain's dedication to maintaining these regular meetings. Such gatherings are crucial for exchanging insights and expertise on oil sector issues, aligning with the GCC's strategic goals in this vital area.
Al Mannai highlighted the significance of the oil and energy sectors as fundamental to sustainable development and economic growth within the GCC states. She pointed out that global shifts in the sector necessitate ongoing policy development and joint efforts to improve performance efficiency and adaptability to future challenges.
The meeting covered key cooperation areas in the GCC's oil and energy sector, such as energy strategy developments, energy security, and a fair transition. Discussions also included the regional emergency plan for petroleum products, European cross-border legislation impacts on the energy sector, and trade-related issues.
Additionally, the meeting addressed GCC participation in international energy forums and conferences, committee and working group activities under the Petroleum Cooperation Committee, as well as the progress of the energy media strategy, the sixth petroleum media forum, and proposals for enhancing the GCC energy media framework.
