Manama: The Bahrain Judo Federation hosted a reception to honor the delegations and federations participating in the judo competitions of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, scheduled to take place in Bahrain in 2025. Dr. Faisal Khalid Kanoo, President of the Bahrain Judo Federation, highlighted the significance of hosting these competitions as a pivotal moment for Bahraini sport, demonstrating Asian and international trust in Bahrain's organisational capabilities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Kanoo praised the Judo Union of Asia (JUA) and its leader, Lieutenant General Obaid Al Anzi, for their efforts in advancing judo and expanding its reach across Asia through continuous support and programmes for national federations. He noted that the gathering of prominent judo representatives from Asia boosts the success of the continental competition Bahrain is set to host.
During the reception, Lt. Gen. Al Anzi was honored for his ongoing contributions to judo at both the Asian and international levels. The Bahrain Judo Federation also recognized several delegation heads and committee members involved in the Asian Youth Games judo competition.
Lt. Gen. Al Anzi remarked on Bahrain's dedication to sports development and youth support, which he believes significantly contributes to the success of major tournaments in the continent. The ceremony highlighted Bahrain's status as a premier regional and international venue for hosting significant sporting events.
