Bahrain Journalists Association Celebrates 25 Years, Honours Pioneers and Supporters

Manama: Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) held a ceremony to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The event welcomed officials, media personalities, and association members. According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony recognized Nabeel bin Yacoub Al Hamer, the founding member and first president of BJA, who also serves as His Majesty the King's Advisor for Media Affairs. The Ministry of Information received acknowledgment for its ongoing support, with Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information, accepting the award. Isa bin Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, the Advisor for Media Affairs at the Court of the Crown Prince, was honoured along with the association's founding members. The event also celebrated the strategic partners from various organizations and companies that have supported BJA's growth, enabling it to introduce initiatives and training programmes aimed at enhancing journalists' skills and enriching the national media landscape. Isa Al Shaiji, President of the BJA, highlighted that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the vision of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain has established a robust model of governance and democracy. This environment allows the national press to operate with freedom and professionalism. Al Shaiji remarked that as BJA marks its 25th anniversary, it enters a new era, driven by both the legacy of its founders and a new generation's vision. He emphasized the association's dedication to innovation and professionalism, aiming to advance the media's role in serving the Kingdom. He reiterated BJA's commitment to supporting press freedom and maintaining Bahraini journalism's status as a leader in the media landscape, both locally and internationally, upholding professionalism and credibility.
