Geneva: The Kingdom of Bahrain has officially deposited its instrument of accession to the Locarno Agreement Establishing an International Classification for Industrial Designs at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva. This move signifies Bahrain's dedication to enhancing its intellectual property framework and aligning its national legislation with international standards. The event was attended by Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva, along with Maryam Abdulaziz Al Doseri, Commercial Attach© at the Permanent Mission of Bahrain in Geneva.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Locarno Agreement, managed by WIPO, provides a unified international classification system for industrial designs. This system aids in the registration and management of industrial design rights and encourages consistency and collaboration among intellectual property offices worldwide.
