Bahrain Joins Global Efforts on World Diabetes Day

Manama: Bahrain is joining the global community in marking World Diabetes Day, observed annually on 14 November. This year's theme, 'Diabetes and Quality of Life,' emphasizes the importance of early detection, preventive care, and a greater public understanding of the factors that increase the risk of the condition.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the observance aligns with Bahrain's broader national initiative to combat non-communicable diseases. Current efforts focus on enhancing clinical guidance, expanding health-promotion programs, and supporting individuals living with diabetes to manage their condition more effectively, ultimately aiming to improve their wellbeing.

Diabetes remains a priority for Bahrain's health sector. A national taskforce dedicated to chronic non-communicable diseases has been established to develop strategies and programs that reduce their prevalence, particularly diabetes, and promote healthier communities.

Throughout the Kingdom, health institutions are hosting awareness campaigns, educational events, and workshops to encourage healthier lifestyles and strengthen public engagement with national health guidance. These efforts are part of an integrated approach aimed at advancing sustainable health development.
