Manama: The Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) conducted a specialised training session on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in municipal work, in collaboration with the Muharraq Municipal Council. This initiative is part of the National Awareness Programme, which seeks to enhance institutional skills for all societal members, including those employed within municipal councils.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the training, led by media adviser Muhannad Sulaiman Al Nuaimi, focused on AI fundamentals and its practical applications relevant to municipal work. Participants gained insights into how AI tools can enhance the quality of municipal services, elevate institutional performance, foster community initiatives, and improve media engagement through emerging technologies.
The course featured practical exercises involving AI in municipal content creation, data analysis, designing awareness campaigns, and developing digital solutions to facilitate better communication with citizens. Additionally, it explored how AI tools can be leveraged for report preparation, new initiative development, and bolstering monitoring and evaluation processes.
Participants delved into advanced topics such as prompt engineering, crafting virtual characters, and utilizing AI for presentations, infographics, and visual content, with an emphasis on the safe and responsible application of these technologies.
This training underscores BIPD's commitment to empowering municipal staff with contemporary digital competencies and enhancing their capacity to innovate and respond effectively, aligning with sustainable development goals and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The National Awareness Programme continues throughout the year, providing educational activities to all community segments and employees from both public and private sectors, aiming to develop skills and heighten awareness regarding political developments and national legislation.
