Bahrain Hosts 86th Meeting of GCC Central Bank Governors Committee

Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s chairmanship of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), chaired the 86th meeting of the Committee of Central Bank Governors of the GCC. The gathering included Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, along with the Governors of the central banks of the GCC member states.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting addressed several key topics aimed at enhancing cooperation among the GCC member countries. Discussions covered recommendations from committees and working groups focused on payment systems, supervision and oversight of the banking sector, and financial technologies in the GCC.

Additionally, the Committee explored the exchange of cybersecurity information within the banking sector. Efforts by GCC member countries in combating money laundering and terrorist financing were also on the agenda, reflecting the regional commitment to maintaining financial integrity and security.
