Bahrain Highlights Diplomatic Engagements and National Initiatives


Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. Key national and diplomatic activities were highlighted, including several high-profile meetings and initiatives aimed at enhancing Bahrain’s international relations and domestic policies.



According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King has ordered the provision of Ramadan supplies for families supported by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation. In a related development, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issued a circular regarding working hours during the holy month of Ramadan, underscoring the country’s commitment to accommodating religious observances.



His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad engaged in a series of diplomatic meetings, receiving ambassadors from Palestine, Qatar, and the Philippines. These meetings reflect Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. Separately, His Highness emphasized the significance of Sports Day in promoting a healthy and active society, aligning with Bahrain’s national goals.



In defense-related developments, the Bahrain Shield project was inaugurated at the Royal Bahraini Air Force under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The project symbolizes Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities.



On a governmental level, the Deputy Prime Minister chaired the 291st Meeting of the Ministerial Committee, focusing on various national issues. Additionally, Bahrain expressed condolences to Canada following a tragic high school shooting, highlighting its solidarity with international communities in times of distress.



The Foreign Minister addressed the importance of strong national efforts and effective international partnerships in combating terrorism and violent extremism. This stance was further evidenced as the Foreign Minister received credentials from a UNICEF representative, indicating a commitment to collaborative international efforts.



The Finance Minister engaged with several international figures, including the Secretary-General of the Arab League and the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. These meetings aimed at fostering economic cooperation and development.



In other ministerial activities, the Information Minister participated in the 22nd session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, while the Social Development Minister took part in the World Economic Investment Forum 2026. The Education Minister also held discussions with international educational leaders to bolster Bahrain’s educational landscape.



Transportation initiatives were also in the spotlight, with the Transportation Minister attending the announcement of a strategic partnership with Capital A Berhad, marking a significant step in Bahrain’s transportation sector.



Furthermore, Bahrain and Egypt held a coordination meeting to activate a joint youth council, indicating collaborative efforts to empower the youth. Internationally, Bahrain delivered a statement at the United Nations Security Council Briefing on South Sudan, demonstrating its active role in global affairs.



Lastly, Bahrain’s parliamentary activities included the Speaker congratulating the UAE Federal National Council on its 54th anniversary and the Bahrain Parliamentary Division chairing the 23rd GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee meeting, reinforcing Bahrain’s commitment to regional cooperation.
