Bahrain Highlights Diplomatic Engagements and Development Initiatives


Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. Key developments include a range of diplomatic engagements and governmental initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and supporting social welfare programs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King of Bahrain received the Saudi Minister of State, while extending condolences to the Thai Monarch. In a similar context, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also conveyed condolences to the King of Thailand. These gestures underscore Bahrain’s commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic ties and offering support to neighboring nations.

In domestic affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister visited the EWA Control Centre, demonstrating the government’s focus on energy management. The Works Minister announced the commencement of Phase 3A of a road development project leading to Bahrain International Airport, aimed at improving transportation infrastructure.

The Housing Minister reported the
disbursement of over BHD 630 million in housing financing, reflecting citizens’ acceptance of new funding options. In parallel, the Social Development Ministry signed a cooperation agreement with Apparel Group to support people of determination, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance social support frameworks.

Cultural and educational initiatives also took center stage, with the Youth Minister attending the “Movement and Creativity” event, promoting art and physical activity. The Social Development Minister participated in the Aysha Early Intervention Centre’s graduation ceremony, emphasizing the importance of early education.

On the tourism front, the Tourism Minister highlighted how hotel services in Bahrain reflect authentic Bahraini hospitality, which contributes to enhancing Bahrain’s position on the global tourism map. Furthermore, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority announced upcoming events for “Celebrate Bahrain 2025,” aiming to boost tourism and cultural exchange.

Internationally, the
National Institution for Human Rights participated in the 10th Eurasian Alliance meeting in Moscow. Additionally, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the International Organization for Migration signed a second-phase agreement to support a regional training center to combat trafficking in persons, reinforcing Bahrain’s commitment to international human rights standards.

In sports, McLaren secured a victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, adding to the global sports achievements highlighted by local media.
