Bahrain Handball Team Secures Commanding Victory at Asian Youth Games

Manama: The Bahraini handball team commenced their journey at the 3rd Asian Youth Games with a decisive 36-12 victory over Hong Kong in Group A. The match took place at the Handball Federation Hall within the Umm Al Hassam Sports Complex. This tournament, ongoing in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is scheduled to continue until October 31 under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahraini team displayed strong readiness and ambition from the onset, leveraging a robust defence coupled with rapid and efficient attacks. This strategy allowed them to lead 18-5 at halftime, showcasing superior technique and fitness levels. In the second half, they maintained their dominance by adhering to tactical discipline and demonstrating confidence on the court. Coach Mohammed Abdulrahman utilized the opportunity to rotate players, aiming to assess their readiness for upcoming matches without compromising the team's overall performance.

In other events, Bahraini teams experienced varied outcomes. The Kabaddi team faced defeats against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while Kurash competitor Hasan Al Laith was overcome by India's Vaibhav. Additionally, Pencak Silat athlete Jassim Al Sabaie lost to Iran's Ali Reza.

The tournament continues with Bahrain's volleyball team set to begin their campaign on the second day, coinciding with the debut of Teqball at the Asian Youth Games.
