Bahrain Engages in GCC Parliamentary Coordination Meeting Ahead of IPU Assembly

Manama: A delegation from the Bahrain Parliamentary Division took part in the coordination meeting of the parliaments and legislative councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, held remotely. The meeting aimed to coordinate and prepare for participation in the 151st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), scheduled to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, in mid-October.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was represented by MP Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives and member of the Bahrain Parliamentary Division's delegation to the IPU meetings. The meeting discussed means to coordinate Gulf positions and unify perspectives on Gulf, Arab, and international issues listed on the General Assembly's agenda, in order to enhance the role of GCC parliaments in supporting shared interests and presenting unified stances in international parliamentary forums.
