Cairo: Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda, Shura Council Deputy Head of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee and member of the Foreign, Political, Security Affairs Committee in the Arab Parliament, took part in the recent Arab Parliament’s Committee on Foreign, Political, and Security Affairs meeting. The meeting was convened at the Arab League’s headquarters in Cairo to deliberate on crucial agenda items such as political and security developments in the Arab region, regional issue coordination, and the adoption of the work plan for the 2025-2026 session.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Maawda expressed Bahrain’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to reinforcing Arab national security and fostering international cooperation. He acknowledged the Arab Parliament’s efforts in monitoring political and security developments and unifying Arab positions on regional and international platforms.
Al Maawda emphasized Bahrain’s consistent policy of bolstering Arab national security and promoting cooperation among Arab and Islamic states. This policy is based on dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and the belief that stability is essential for regional and global development and prosperity.
He further noted Bahrain’s stance that safeguarding Arab national security involves unified positions, enhanced political and parliamentary coordination, and the pursuit of peaceful solutions to regional conflicts. He stressed that comprehensive Arab security encompasses protecting resources, promoting development, and addressing political, security, and economic challenges in the region.
Al Maawda also highlighted Bahrain’s legislative focus on strengthening Arab and Islamic parliamentary cooperation to support national security goals, foster dialogue and understanding, and unify positions on critical issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. He reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its dedication to providing urgent humanitarian assistance amid ongoing challenges.
He concluded by stating that achieving a just and lasting peace in the region is a fundamental component of Arab national security and stability.
