Bahrain Embraces New Developments in Regional Cooperation and Labor Market

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain extended congratulations to the newly elected Prime Minister of Japan, signaling Bahrain's commitment to fostering diplomatic relations with key international partners. The diplomatic engagements continued with HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad receiving HRH Feisal bin Al Hussein of Jordan and HH Fahad bin Jelawi of Saudi Arabia, underlining Bahrain's dedication to strengthening ties with neighboring countries. Additionally, Bahrain expressed its support for the recently brokered ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan, facilitated by Qatar and Trkiye, highlighting its role in promoting peace in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also active, with the Foreign Minister engaging with the outgoing Arab League Assistant Secretary General, the Executive Director of IISS-Middle East, and the Italian Ambassador, sho wcasing Bahrain's ongoing efforts in diplomatic dialogue and international cooperation. The Housing Minister announced plans to allocate a second batch of "alternative options" plots in November and December, aiming to address housing needs. Meanwhile, the Acting Labour Minister emphasized the benefits of the upgraded Wage Protection System, which is designed to enhance labor market development and protect national workers' rights. In the sphere of municipal affairs, the Municipalities Minister met with the WOAH Regional Representative, while the Transportation Minister participated in an agreement signing between Bahrain Airport Company and Valo Aviation. The Transportation Minister also received the British Ambassador, furthering bilateral discussions. The Shura Council and the Council of Representatives were active in fostering international parliamentary relations. The Shura Chairman and Speaker extended congratulations to various counterparts, including the Qatari Shura Speaker and the Moroccan counte rpart, in response to recent successes and elections. Additionally, Bahrain's active participation at the 151st IPU Assembly in Geneva was marked by a commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation with Jordan and Belarus. Finally, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) launched an enhanced Wages Protection System, reflecting Bahrain's continuous efforts to improve labor market conditions and ensure fair compensation practices.
