Bahrain Elected to Lead Arab Fencing Association for First Time

Manama: Bahrain has achieved a significant milestone by being elected to the presidency of the Arab Fencing Association for the first time since the association's establishment. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received congratulations from Shaikh Ibrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa, who serves as the Chairman of both the Bahrain Fencing Association and the Arab Fencing Association.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Ibrahim bin Salman expressed that this achievement reflects the trust placed in Bahrain by the association's general assembly. He emphasized that it highlights Bahrain's leadership in organization and strategic planning within the sport of fencing. This accomplishment is a testament to the Kingdom's growing influence and capabilities in the sporting arena.

Shaikh Ibrahim attributed this milestone to the significant support from His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who holds multiple key positions, including First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. Their efforts have contributed to advancing sports in Bahrain, with fencing achieving notable regional and international successes in recent years.

Furthermore, Shaikh Ibrahim praised the HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation Initiative for its role in identifying and nurturing promising fencing talent, which has been crucial in the development of the sport within the Kingdom.
