Bahrain Diabetes Conference and Global Diabetic Foot Course 2025 Witnesses Extensive International Participation


Manama: Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, attended the Bahrain Diabetes Conference and the Global Diabetic Foot Course 2025, held on November 12-15. The event brought together more than 200 specialists from Bahrain, the GCC, and several European and Asian countries.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference coincided with World Diabetes Day and highlighted the importance of regional and international cooperation in addressing diabetes and its complications. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah noted that Bahrain has made significant progress in improving healthcare quality and chronic disease prevention, supported by national policies and effective regulation.



Speakers at the event emphasized national efforts to enhance early detection programmes, expand diabetic foot clinics, and improve patient outcomes. The scientific committee noted the conference’s role in supporting young healthcare professionals and promoting a research culture.



The Gulf Diabetic Foot Group stressed the importance of early education and regular screening as crucial measures to prevent severe complications, while experts underlined the value of GCC cooperation in unifying standards and developing shared data to improve treatment outcomes.



Organisers of the conference expressed gratitude to participating institutions and sponsors, including the Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services, Primary Health Care Centres, and EduCare.
