Bahrain Cycling Team Takes Part in Arab Championship in Iraq


Sulaymaniyah: The Bahrain national cycling team has arrived in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, to participate in the Arab Road Cycling Championship, which runs from October 3 to 13. The championship features competitions in men’s, youth, junior, women’s, and girls’ categories, with Bahrain competing in the men’s, youth, and junior divisions.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation is led by Sayed Shubber Hilal Al Wedaie, Secretary General of the Bahrain Cycling Association. The team includes officials Aqeel Abdulameer Mohammed for the men’s category, Fares Hussain for the youth category, and Isa Ayoob as the cycling technician. The men’s team comprises Ahmed Nasser, Ahmed Abdulghani, Mahdi Hassan, and Sayed Ahmed Khalil. The youth lineup features Mohammed Hassan Jassim, Aamer Saleh Al Khassham, Humood Awad Al Farhan, and Abdulaziz Saleh Al Hamri, while Hassan Aqeel Thamer will represent the junior category.



Shaikh Dr. Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Cycling Association, met with the players prior to their departure. He encouraged them to perform their best to honor Bahrain in the Arab competition and expressed his hopes for their success in achieving results that reflect the Kingdom’s progress in the sport.
