Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that happened over the past 24 hours.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain has strongly condemned the Iranian terrorist attack on a UAE oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. The incident has sparked concerns over maritime security in the region, prompting Bahrain to voice its support for the UAE in these challenging times.
The Bahraini leadership has been active, with HM King chairing a Royal Family Council meeting and holding a call with the UAE President to discuss the implications of the attack. In addition, HM King sent a reply message to HM King of Morocco and issued several decrees, including Decrees (26) through (29) of 2026. HM King also received cables from senior royals, officials, and Bahraini families expressing solidarity and concern over the regional developments.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister has been proactive, issuing Edicts (15) and (16) of 2026. Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting, where the recent regional tensions were likely a topic of discussion. Bahrain's condemnation of the attacks underscores its commitment to regional stability and security.
The day also saw significant diplomatic engagements, with HE Ukrainian President arriving in Bahrain on an official visit and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad receiving the BCCI Chairman. The Electricity Minister met with the US Ambassador, while the Speaker of the Council of Representatives engaged with a European Parliament delegation and chaired the Bureau of Council of Representatives meeting.
On the development front, the Housing Ministry announced improvements in its housing allocation service, reducing processing time to one working day.
