Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting vital civilian infrastructure in the Kingdom. Bahrain views these hostile acts as a direct threat to civilian lives and a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned drone strikes targeting civil aviation navigation equipment and overflight air traffic within the Bahrain Flight Information Region. It noted that targeting critical navigation systems endangers international civil aviation in direct violation of the Chicago Convention and ICAO regulations. The Ministry praised the Bahrain Defence Force's air defences for successfully intercepting the incoming attacks, affirming the Kingdom's right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Bahrain reiterated its call for the international community and the UN Security Council to take decisive action to force an immediate end to Iranian aggression. It urges strict international enforcement to safeguard air and maritime navigation and demands that Iran be held fully legally and financially accountable under international law.
