Bahrain Condemns Iranian Aggression on Regional Territories

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a strong condemnation against the ongoing Iranian attacks targeting its territory and those of the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Jordan. The attacks are viewed as a significant escalation, threatening the security and stability of the region while violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these states. Bahrain considers these actions as breaches of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, the Charter of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Security Council Resolution No. 2817, and principles of good neighborliness.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed full solidarity with the affected countries. It highlighted the readiness and vigilance of the Bahrain Defense Force and other regional armed forces in confronting Iranian attacks targeting civilian sites and facilities using missiles and drones.

The Ministry emphasized the right of Bahrain and affected countries to take legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, in line with international law, Article 51 of the UN Charter, and the Joint Defence Agreement of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. The Ministry urged restraint and the resolution of disputes through dialogue and peaceful means.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to address the situation by taking firm action against Iran's continued attacks. It urged the establishment of an effective mechanism to ensure accountability and compliance with international obligations, ensuring the protection of vital waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz, thereby contributing to regional and global security and development.
