Manama:The Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a strong condemnation of the recent Houthi terrorist attacks targeting critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, specifically King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and the Shaybah oil field. These attacks have resulted in the deaths of one Saudi citizen and three Asian residents, injured ten others, and caused significant material damage.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain has described these incidents as part of a systematic terrorist campaign. This marks the fourth consecutive attack within two weeks, following earlier strikes on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The Ministry emphasized the seriousness of these attacks, which threaten civilian infrastructure and global energy security, and called for immediate international intervention beyond verbal condemnation.
Bahrain has reiterated its steadfast support for Saudi Arabia, endorsing all measures taken by the kingdom to safeguard its security, stability, and territorial integrity. Bahrain emphasized the importance of Saudi security to its own and to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The Ministry expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
Furthermore, the Ministry highlighted that these ongoing attacks are in violation of international law and humanitarian principles, posing a direct threat to global energy security and international peace. Bahrain urged the United Nations Security Council to take decisive action under Chapter VII of the UN Charter to stop Houthi aggression and to enforce relevant resolutions, including Resolutions 2216 and 2817, holding those responsible accountable.
