Bahrain Bourse Named Best Exchange for Financial Literacy in Middle East

Manama: Bahrain Bourse, a licensed exchange regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, has been awarded the title of 'Best Exchange for Financial Literacy in the Middle East' at the Euromoney Capital Markets Awards 2025. The recognition reflects the exchange's sustained commitment to advancing financial literacy as part of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework and in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain Bourse's programmes and initiatives reach more than 10,000 participants annually. These include TradeQuest, the Smart Investor programme in collaboration with INJAZ Bahrain, the Investment Academy with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), and the BHB Board Mentorship Programme. The exchange also participates in global and regional initiatives such as the World Federation of Exchanges' 'Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy' campaign and the regional 'Mulim' awareness campaign with the Central Bank of Bahrain.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse, stated that the recognition emphasized the exchange's commitment to promoting financial literacy as a foundation for informed decision making, inclusive participation, and corporate accountability within the community.

Recent initiatives by Bahrain Bourse include the sixth edition of the Smart Investor programme in May 2025, which reached 106 schools across the private and public sectors. The 26th edition of TradeQuest engaged 20 school teams and seven universities, while the Investment Academy provided over 360 participants with professional courses and workshops throughout 2024. Additionally, the second cohort of the BHB Board Mentorship Programme was launched this year to prepare board-ready candidates for leadership roles in corporate governance.

The Euromoney Capital Markets Awards recognize excellence, leadership, and innovation in global financial markets. Bahrain Bourse's win further consolidates its role as a regional leader in sustainable capital market development and investor education.
