Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities Engages in Gulf Film Festival in Oman

Muscat: A delegation from the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), led by Aysha Yousif Al Sada, Advisor for Cultural Affairs at BACA, took part in the Gulf Film Festival 2025, which was held in the Sultanate of Oman. The event was organised by the Omani Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the festival showcased 26 Gulf films vying for nine awards across categories such as feature films, short films, and documentaries. The programme included film screenings from GCC countries and a special event featuring prominent figures in the regional film industry.

Dedicated pavilions were established for Gulf states to display their cinematic experiences and spotlight emerging talent. A series of interactive workshops were also conducted to promote artistic exchange and ongoing learning.

The festival paid tribute to a group of distinguished Gulf artists, among them Bahraini director Ahmed Yacoub Al Moqla, acknowledging his contributions to the Gulf artistic scene. The Bahrain Cinema Club also engaged in the festival's activities, alongside filmmakers, writers, media professionals, and cinema enthusiasts.
