Manama:The executive and legislative authorities in Bahrain have convened to evaluate the national response to Iranian attacks, focusing on security impacts and the continuity of essential services. This joint meeting was led by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives; Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman; and General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, alongside other high-ranking officials.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Speaker Al Musallam praised King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for prioritizing Bahraini citizens in national plans and commended the efforts of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in implementing these directives. He emphasized the contributions of the Bahrain Defence Force, National Guard, and Ministry of Interior in the national response, as well as the importance of diplomatic efforts and regional coordination.
Speaker Al Musallam underscored the significance of government preparedness and cooperation between legislative and executive bodies in addressing the attacks¾¢ repercussions. He highlighted public awareness and national unity as crucial factors in overcoming challenges. Additionally, he noted the measures taken to support and compensate citizens affected by damages in Sitra and Hidd, following directives from King Hamad.
Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, emphasized Bahrain¾¢s strategy under King Hamad¾¢s leadership, aimed at safeguarding national security and maintaining service continuity despite attacks on vital infrastructure. He commended the government's efforts in ensuring the availability of services and goods and noted the Crown Prince¾¢s direct involvement with citizens.
Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah detailed the longstanding crisis management process rooted in reforms initiated by King Hamad. He described strategic planning efforts led by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which have established an integrated crisis management framework. This includes contingency planning and the activation of emergency shelters and medical services to protect citizens and maintain essential services.
The Minister highlighted the coordinated response among military, security, and civilian agencies, emphasizing the role of the Bahrain Defence Force in countering Iranian missile and drone attacks. He also warned against internal security threats posed by elements loyal to Iran¾¢s Supreme Leader and stressed the importance of maintaining national unity and cohesion.
