Bahrain Athletics Team Prepares for 3rd Asian Youth Games

Manama: The Bahrain national athletics team is preparing to compete in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, aiming to deliver strong performances that reflect the Kingdom's prominent standing in Asian athletics. The team includes nine athletes: Sam Salah Rashid, Yousif Ameen Rizq, Talal Nawaf Al Doseri, Ibrahim Al Adeeb Bukhari, Irfan Mohammed Ismaeel, Sayed Ahmed Zuhair, Khalifa Yousif Mubarak, Shaikha Ahmed Mubarak, and Maryam Salman Ateeq. The athletics events will begin on October 23.

According to Bahrain News Agency, head coach Saad Shaddad said the preparations followed an intensive training plan that included local camps to enhance the athletes' physical and technical readiness. He noted the team's high level of commitment and determination to achieve strong results.

He added that the competition provides an ideal opportunity for Bahrain's young athletes to gain experience and compete against some of Asia's best, expressing confidence in their ability to perform well. Shaddad emphasised that the team's main goal is to represent Bahrain honourably and compete for top positions, expressing confidence in the athletes' potential to add new achievements to Bahrain's record of success in regional and international athletics.
