Bahrain Athletes Secure Multiple Medals on Third Day of West Asia Competitions

Manama: Bahraini Paralympic athletes continued their strong performance on the third day of the West Asia competitions, winning several medals in athletics as events concluded, while boccia competitions got underway. According to Bahrain News Agency, in athletics, Saad Saad won gold in the F32 shot put, while Ruba Al Omari also secured a gold medal in the F55 shot put. Yousif Al Jallas claimed silver in the F57 shot put, and Maryam Al Humaidi earned a silver medal in the F46 javelin. Bronze medals were awarded to Zahra Al Jabouri in the F34 discus, Sayed Hussain Ahmed in the F46 shot put, and Amal Fardan in the F54 shot put. Boccia competitions saw Bahraini players achieving significant victories. Sayed Ali Al Wedaei defeated the UAE with a score of 5-0 and Iraq 9-1. Nouf Khalifa narrowly beat Oman 4-3, while Isa Marjan recorded impressive wins of 17-0 and 7-1 against Oman. Ahmed Reman secured back-to-back wins over the UAE and Oman, and Ali Buqais triumphed over Oman with a 9-3 scoreline. Athletics compet itions concluded on Wednesday, while boccia events will continue in the coming days. Powerlifting competitions are scheduled to begin on Friday. The Bahraini wheelchair basketball team is set to face the UAE in the semi-finals on Friday evening, while the boccia final will feature an all-Bahraini matchup between Isa Marjan and Mishal Buqais.
