Accra:Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain received a phone call from Yemen's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al Zouba, to discuss the close fraternal relations between the two countries and explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers focused on ongoing coordination and consultation regarding Yemen-related developments at the UN Security Council, especially in the context of Bahrain's membership in the Council.
The conversation also covered the persistent Houthi militia attacks against Saudi Arabia, which include deliberate strikes on civilian facilities and airports in Abha, Jazan, Najran, Riyadh, and Aden Airport. These attacks pose a threat to civil aviation and violate international humanitarian law and the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
Further discussions centered on the efforts of Yemen's legitimate government to extend its authority across the country, combating Houthi terrorist militias, and working towards restoring security and stability. The ministers emphasized the importance of safeguarding Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity while fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, development, and prosperity.
