Bahrain and Uzbekistan Strengthen Bilateral Relations during Official Visit

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, engaged in talks with Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, during Saidov's official visit to Bahrain. This meeting focused on enhancing the relationship between the two nations across various sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the Uzbek President and Prime Minister. He emphasized the cordial relations between Bahrain and Uzbekistan and expressed Bahrain's desire to expand cooperation in multiple fields. Minister Saidov reciprocated by delivering greetings from the Uzbek President to the Bahraini King and Crown Prince, noting the warm reception and expressing Uzbekistan's interest in strengthening ties with Bahrain.

The discussions centered on bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation in political, economic, investment, tourism, and cultural areas. Both parties assessed the progress of existing agreements and memoranda of understanding and considered new opportunities for collaboration that would benefit both countries.

Regional developments and their implications for security and stability were also on the agenda. The ministers discussed ongoing efforts to achieve peaceful resolutions to regional conflicts and underscored the importance of maintaining coordination and political consultations in international forums on shared concerns.

The meeting concluded with the signing of an agreement exempting visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports from both countries. The session was attended by several high-ranking officials from both Bahrain and Uzbekistan, including Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma and Ambassador Nodirjon Turgunov, further emphasizing the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
