New York:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Alison Hooker, the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on the progress of Bahrain-US relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. The two officials also addressed regional developments and efforts to ensure maritime security in strategic locations such as the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab.
The meeting further covered initiatives aimed at promoting regional security and stability. Additionally, there was an exchange of views on enhancing consultation and coordination during Bahrain's tenure as an elected member of the United Nations Security Council, focusing on regional and international issues.
Other attendees included Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States, and Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector.
