Saint Petersburg: The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation have signed significant agreements to enhance cooperation in media and information technology. These agreements were concluded on the sidelines of Bahrain's participation as the Guest of Honour at the 2025 Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
According to Bahrain News Agency, a memorandum of understanding was formalized between Bahrain's Ministry of Information and the autonomous non-profit organisation TV-Novosti. The signing was conducted by Abdullah Khalil Buheji, Director General of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), and Maya Manna, Director of TV-Novosti.
In addition to this memorandum, a separate cooperation agreement was established between BNA and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency, known for founding the Russian media outlet RIA Novosti. This agreement was signed by Abdullah Khalil Buheji and Sergey Kochetkov, First Deputy Editor in Chief of Rossiya Segodnya.
Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Bahrain's Minister of Information, emphasized the importance of these partnerships in promoting media cooperation between the two nations. He expressed his belief that these agreements would pave the way for new collaborative opportunities as Bahrain and Russia mark 35 years of diplomatic relations.
