Muscat: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministries of Health of Bahrain and Oman as part of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's state visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The visit was conducted in response to an invitation from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on behalf of Bahrain and Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of Oman. The agreement signifies a collaborative effort to enhance cooperation in the healthcare sector between the two nations.
Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, highlighted the strong and historic ties between Bahrain and Oman, particularly within the healthcare sector. The minister noted that the MoU is a significant step towards enhancing cooperation in healthcare systems, exchanging expertise, and improving primary and secondary healthcare services. The agreement also aims to foster collaboration in public health, joint research, continuous medical education, and the organization of visits for experts and specialists in various domains.
Dr. Hasan emphasized that the MoU underscores the shared commitment to improving health and healthcare services for citizens and achieving the health aspirations of both nations. The partnership reflects both countries' dedication to advancing their healthcare sectors and ensuring better health outcomes for their populations.
