Bahrain and Italy Focus on Renewable Energy Cooperation

Manama: Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, engaged in discussions with Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister of Environment and Energy Security of the Italian Republic, to explore collaboration in renewable energy. The meeting emphasized the robust Bahrain-Italy relations and cooperative efforts across multiple sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Humaidan reiterated Bahrain's dedication to incorporating international best practices within the sustainable energy sector. He outlined national strategies aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and increasing the use of renewable energy sources. These strategies align with Bahrain's goals of reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2035 and achieving net zero emissions by 2060.

The meeting further explored mutual interests and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in renewable energy and energy security. Minister Fratin acknowledged Bahrain's advancements in clean energy and conveyed Italy's interest in fostering cooperation. He emphasized the importance of developing innovative solutions to aid the transition to sustainable energy, benefiting both nations and their citizens.
