Cairo: During the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, to Egypt, a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed. This agreement aims to foster cooperation between the youth of Bahrain and Egypt through the establishment of a Bahraini-Egyptian Youth Council.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ahmed Kouchouk, Egypt's Minister of Finance. The initiative underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance bilateral ties and provide new opportunities for their youth.
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Bahrain's Minister of Youth Affairs, spoke on the longstanding relations between Bahrain and Egypt. She noted the shared vision for growth and prosperity, supported by the leadership of both countries. The minister emphasized the ongoing efforts led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, along with continued support from HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in strengthening cooperation, particularly in youth affairs.
Minister Tawfiqi also highlighted the Ministry's dedication to the policies of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS). Chaired by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the SCYS aims to build connections between Bahraini youth and their peers internationally, with Egypt being a primary focus.
The newly formed council will provide a structured framework for collaboration between the youth of both nations. It will include various programs, activities, and policies designed to empower young people and promote their role in development. The council will also facilitate the exchange of youth delegations, encourage joint international representation, and support youth diplomacy. Through these efforts, the council seeks to foster sustainable partnerships, develop qualified youth leaders, and enhance the global image of both Bahrain and Egypt.
