Manama: Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation, met with Georgy Borisenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa. The meeting focused on reviewing the bilateral relations between Bahrain and Russia, alongside discussions on the latest regional developments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Al Saati provided a detailed briefing to the Russian official regarding recent Iranian missile and drone attacks that targeted civilian infrastructure and vital facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. These attacks resulted in significant property damage and also included threats to civil aviation, as Iran targeted navigation systems and aircraft within the Bahrain Flight Information Region (FIR) using hostile drones. This was highlighted as a significant threat to international civil aviation safety.
The Ambassador further emphasized the implications of Iran's continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz on maritime navigation. He described this as a severe violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the law of the sea, noting its potential serious repercussions on global trade and the world economy.
