Sandhurst: Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst graduation ceremony as Guest of Honour, marking a historic moment as the first ambassador to receive this distinction in the academy's history. The event highlighted the enduring partnership between Bahrain and Sandhurst, which began in 1956 when Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa became the first Bahraini and Gulf graduate.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ambassador emphasized the robust Bahrain-UK relationship and the significance of continued collaboration in military training and development. He praised the academy's role in preparing Bahraini military personnel who serve under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The latest graduation cohort included three Bahraini cadets, with Officer Cadet Khalifa Salah Al Binjasim receiving the 'International Sword of Honour,' a prestigious award given to the top international cadet. Ambassador Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed was also awarded the Sandhurst Medal in recognition of his efforts in enhancing bilateral cooperation.
