Kuwait: Dr. Salman Ahmed Al Mahari, Director General of Antiquities at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), participated in the 23rd Meeting of Undersecretaries Responsible for Antiquities and Museums in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Kuwait. The meeting focused on collaborative cultural efforts and addressed key topics including the 2025 - 2030 Work Plan of the Committee on Antiquities and Museums, the annual schedule of events and activities, the periodic joint archaeological exhibition, combating the illicit trafficking of cultural property, and enhancing international cooperation in these areas.
According to Bahrain News Agency, several specialists and researchers in the antiquities and museums sectors from GCC countries were honoured on the sidelines of the meeting. This included recognition for contributions made by private museums. From the Kingdom of Bahrain, Maha Sulaibeekh, Museum Guidance Specialist, and Abbas Al Aradi, Researcher in Antiquities and Heritage at BACA, were among those honoured, acknowledging their significant contributions to the fields of museums and antiquities.
