Saint petersburg: The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), led by its President Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, participated in the Saint Petersburg International United Cultures Forum. The event took place in the Russian Federation’s city of Saint Petersburg from September 10-13.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalifa emphasized the strong cultural connections between Bahrain and the Russian Federation, which have facilitated numerous joint cultural initiatives over the years. This year marks a significant milestone as Bahrain hosts the Russian Seasons to celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Bahrain is committed to showcasing its cultural heritage in the Russian Federation, with whom it has longstanding historical ties. The State Hermitage Museum is currently hosting an exhibition titled “From Bahrain’s Heritage: The Art of Crafting Swords and Daggers.” This exhibition highlights Bahrain’s traditional craftsmanship and aims to introduce officials, audiences, and investors in the Russian Federation to this aspect of Bahrain’s cultural heritage.
The Saint Petersburg International United Cultures Forum is recognized as a major cultural event globally, attracting participation from cultural officials, academics, and leaders in theater and music, as well as international speakers on cultural issues. The Forum serves as a significant platform for advancing international cultural initiatives, offering opportunities to present key cultural projects, sign agreements, and host a diverse range of programs and activities, including seminars, lectures, art exhibitions, and musical events.
