BACA and Bapco Energies Collaborate for Cultural Programme at Awali Exhibition

Manama:The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), in partnership with Bapco Energies, is hosting a cultural programme alongside the Awali Exhibition at the Bahrain National Museum, which will continue until December 31, 2026.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme aims to explore the historical significance of Awali and its impact on urban and social development in Bahrain. This will be achieved through a variety of discussion sessions, guided tours, and artistic activities.

The programme features two key discussions. Dr. Wafa Al Ghatam, an Assistant Professor at the University of Bahrain, will focus on the architectural importance of Awali and its role in the country's modern development. Additionally, Steve Lever, an Archivist at Bapco Energies, will discuss the efforts to document and preserve the history of the town.

Participants can also engage in a photography tour led by Ishaq Madan, a tour by Ali Karimi, and a sketching tour organized by sketchwalks.bh. These activities will be complemented by guided exhibition tours that delve into the development of Awali in relation to Bahrain's oil industry.

Furthermore, Darseen Café at the museum is offering a special menu featuring dishes linked to Awali's historic cafés and restaurants, available until November 11. The exhibition itself employs photographs and archival materials to capture the town's development and the daily life during the expansion of Bahrain's petroleum industry.
