Baku:His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, welcomed Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, at the Presidential Palace. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit. The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, was also present.
According to Bahrain News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain. He highlighted the strengthening bilateral ties and the ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
Dr. Al Zayani, in turn, conveyed greetings from the Bahraini King and Crown Prince to President Aliyev. He pointed out that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Azerbaijan, emphasizing Bahrain's dedication to further fostering political and economic collaboration.
The Bahraini Foreign Minister also congratulated President Aliyev in anticipation of Azerbaijan's Independence Restoration Day on October 18. He praised Baku's role in hosting the CICA summit, which aims to promote regional peace, security, and economic development.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and their broader impacts on global stability and the international economy.
