Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development highlights technology’s role in civil societies

Under the patronage of Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Social Development Minister, the Bahrain Voluntary Work Society (BVWS) organized a program theme "Digital transformation of NGOs".

Assistant Undersecretary for the Social Development Ministry Enas Mohamed Al-Majed and Hassan bin Eid Bukhammas, BVWS' Honorary President were present.

The Assistant Undersecretary stressed the importance of promoting and keeping pace with technological changes to develop the sector of civil and professional associations and non-profit institutions in Bahrain, by introducing them to the available digital solutions to contribute to the investment of modern technologies in the work of civil organizations

She noted that the Ministry of Social Development is keen to provide all appropriate means and necessary support for the development of voluntary work and help it to play its role to the fullest.

The Assistant Undersecretary said that the initiative of BVWS in organizing this training program, in cooperation with the Digital Skills Foundation, and the Abdul Rahim Al-Kooheji Charitable Foundation, reflects the association’s awareness of social responsibility, by providing opportunities for civil society organizations to benefit from the process of enabling digital transformation, to enhance their services to beneficiary groups, and use technology to contribute to the effective and quality performance of their role.

During the program, an exhibition of digital transformation platforms was inaugurated. Supporting agencies and relevant community personalities were honored.
