Arab League Secretary-General Meets with Bahraini Ambassador to Discuss Regional Cooperation

Manama: Dr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received Fawzia Zainal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States. During the meeting, Ambassador Zainal affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's pride in its longstanding relations with the League of Arab States and expressed appreciation for the League's role in promoting Arab solidarity and advancing joint Arab cooperation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Zainal congratulated Dr. Fahmy on assuming his new responsibilities as Secretary-General, wishing him success in his role and expressing confidence that his leadership would further strengthen the League's role in serving the interests of the Arab world. Dr. Fahmy expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom of Bahrain's pivotal role in supporting joint Arab action, commending its contributions to strengthening Arab solidarity and advancing the work of the League of Arab States across a wide range of fields.

The meeting reviewed a number of topics of mutual interest and explored prospects for further developing joint Arab cooperation. The discussions focused on enhancing the role and effectiveness of the League of Arab States and its institutions to better respond to current developments and meet the aspirations of Arab states and their people, while advancing shared Arab interests.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Arab region and the broader regional landscape. They reviewed preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit and underscored the importance of strengthening coordination and consultation among Arab states in support of regional security, stability, and common Arab interests.
