Antonio Taiani: It is difficult to amend the memorandum of understanding signed with Libya related to the immigration file.

The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, “Antonio Taiani,” said that it is difficult to amend the memorandum of understanding signed with Libya related to the migration file, but it will be evaluated.

Tayani stressed in press statements that the solution to the immigration problem should not be in the short term only, but even in the long term.

He pointed out that the current general situation is very complex and dangerous, and there are huge problems everywhere, from Tunisia to Somalia, passing through Libya and Chad as well as Syria, Lebanon and Afghanistan.

Tajani called on the European Union to commit to confronting the influx of immigrants to his country coming from southern Italy and via Croatia from the Balkan crossing.
